The Royal Meteorological Society does not itself offer work experience, but opportunities exist at the following organisations:
Summer placements for university students at the Met Office in Exeter are usually advertised in December of the previous year, on the Met Office website. Students are advised to sign up for job alerts on the Met Office Careers Site so that they can keep updated of other opportunities as they arise.
For students in the Cambridge area, the British Antarctic Survey sometimes offers summer placements.
Placements are sometimes available with MetDesk and BP offers one year internships to students in the penultimate year of a degree in meteorology, climate science, oceanography, geography, geophysics, geology, maths, physics, earth science & environmental science which includes meteorology modules.
