Holycross School in Chorley, Lancashire, will be launching a weather balloon tomorrow, Wednesday 22nd May at 2pm.
The balloon will take a camera as well as equipment to measure temperature, pressure and humidity up into the upper atmosphere. The weather forecast is looking good, and we are expecting clear skies. The balloon (and its payload) should land in the Derby area.
Members of the public are welcome to attend and should aim to arrive by 1330.
The launch is being carried out jointly by the Royal Meteorological Society and Manchester University.
