Newchurch Primary School has approximately 175 children. We
are a first school with seven classes. Newchurch school is in the
middle of a small village. Most of the children at the school travel
by car or bus to get to school as there are only about five children
who actually live in the village! Newchurch Parish is quite large,
about 8 square miles. It is made up of small villages and farms.
Newchurch is over 900 years old and is positioned on a small hill or
shute.

Latidue: 50deg.40min NORTH and 1 deg. 13 min WEST.
We think we are approx. 40 metres above sea level.

We will be doing our observations at 10.50 am in our environmental
area. We will be using a rain gauge, a min/max thermometer, windsock,
and a barometer.

The weather on the Isle of Wight in late January is normally a little
cold, sunny spells and some rain. But this winter we have had
many more frosts than usual. (If we have any snow in a winter it is
often in February.)

This was put together by Sophie, Alex, Megan, Jake, Ewan and Sebastian.
